Upcoming Library Events

July 27 trustee meeting will be held at 4 pm instead of the usual 6:30pm.

Knitting and rug hooking groups as well as Story Hour are suspended for the summer and will resume in September.

Summer offerings for children:

• Monthly story times on the last Saturday of the month for young children.
• Drop-in any time for easy crafts and activities at the table on the "Make a Splash" summer theme.  Decorate a fish or turtle cut-out for a book you've read and we'll add it to the collection hanging from the library ceiling.
• Colorful reading records with stickers are available for parents to use with beginning readers--great encouragement!  The librarian has a treasure box of little prizes for anyone who brings in their reading record (just to show--you can keep it as a keepsake) at the end of the summer or early fall.

The Library provides free wireless internet access, both during library hours and also after hours for patrons using their own computer with a wireless connection outside.

The 'Last Saturday of the Month' Preschool Story Time will resume in the fall here at the library. Families have been enjoying this special time with volunteers reading to the kids. If you are interested in joining these readers, please let the librarian know, as new people are always welcome!

A knitting group open to all meets on second Thursdays here from 7-9 pm during the fall, winter and spring months. Other similar handcrafts are welcome.

We now offer downloadable audio books through ListenUp!Vermont. The selection is good and you can transfer them to most portable players. Patrons can access the audios at the library computer or from their laptop or any other computer with high speed connection. To look at the site and the selection go to www.listenupvermont.org. Please call the librarian with any questions or come in for help trying this out. Expect that it may take 30-40 minutes to download a whole book, but you can download portions at a time as well.
