Sharon Road Crew Members: (L to R) Rick Bowen, Nick Potter,
Bobby Cushman, and Tim Higgins, Foreman
Sharon welcomes Nick Potter to the Road Crew. Adding a fouth full time person to the team will optimize our road budget, allow for timely maintenance of equipment, enhanced planning capacity, eliminate the recruitment and training required for part time summer and winter helpers, and reduce overtime requirements outside of storm events.
We always appreciate Residents' feedback on road issues and concerns. Please contact the Road Crew (763-7194) or the Selectboard (763-8268 ext 4).
SHARON ROAD WORK NOTICE
The replacement for the bridge on Fay Brook Rd is under contract and work will be under way between Thanksgiving and the new year, or until it is completed.
Replacement bridges on Broad Brook Rd near Harlow Rd and on White Brook Rdnear Town Farm Rd will be undertaken next summer.
The Town of Sharon is fortunate to have been awarded state assistance for two road projects that will be completed next summer: revising the bridge on Quimby Mountain Rd to make it safer, and continuing the repairs on Beaver Meadow Rd. to improve drainage and reduce the challenges on sections of this road during mud season.
If you would like to speak to someone about a road issue...
During the day you may call the Town Office at 763-8268 ext 4 to report roads that need attention. Most times during the day there will not be anyone at the Town Garage to answer the phone, but you are welcome to leave a message (763-7194). The road crew generally checks messages early in the morning and when they return to the garage at the end of the day.
After hours please call the Town Garage at 763-7194 and leave a message.
